US routing data: sources, dates and limits

See what the routing checker can establish before you run a list or buy a plan. Coverage below comes from the installed registry, not a marketing estimate.

Available source evidence

Counts are records in each source, not unique banks or verified accounts. A recent download does not make an old reporting period current.

Checksum-valid is not payment-ready

The ABA checksum detects some input errors. It cannot establish that a number is assigned to a bank. An institution record from FDIC or NCUA cannot establish ACH, Fedwire, FedNow or RTP participation. Each rail requires its own evidence.

Missing or stale evidence is unknown, not invalid. No result verifies account existence, ownership, balances or acceptance of a payment. Confirm operational instructions with the bank.

How to review a payroll or ERP routing list

  1. Paste routing numbers only, without customer names or account numbers.
  2. Preview three rows and check whether the required source is available.
  3. Review the full-list quote before spending credits. Save the report and compare a later run.

Pro supports up to 50 rows per run; Business supports 250. One API credit is charged per unique valid routing number, with optional synthetic cases priced separately. Upgrading does not unlock data that is not loaded.

Updates and provenance

Imports validate source structure before publication. Failed imports retain the last good snapshot. Reports distinguish the source date from observation time. Comparing unchanged source data is not a new banking event; the current product offers manual report comparison, not automatic payment alerts.
